YOU CAN NEVER LEAVE THE INTERNET UNATTENDED

I went to another country for a while. In that country, the doubya doubya web is expensive for foreigners. In that country, which is very cold, I snowboarded for the first time. By “snowboarded” I mean I fell down a mountain for two hours. I’m still a little numb.

Also, people drink more when their lives are covered in snow. Also, they are nicer and say sorry when you are the person who should say sorry. They give you doughnuts, too. Also, some people leave hearts in the snow with their boots because they have that much love to give.

While all that was happening, this happened:

LITnIMAGE and Fwriction : Review published stories I wrote with my very own fingers. They’re short. Read them. These stories are in my collection, which is now available on Amazon as a Kindle edition. That makes my brain melt a little.

Win a copy of my book

LitStack.com is giving away a copy of Steal Me for Your Stories. For free! At no cost to you! Nada! Zero! Zip! Zilch! All you have to do is a leave them a comment with your email address. Don’t be scared.

UPDATE: The giveaway is over. You didn’t win! But you can still buy a copy here. Only a few left.

Specter published a story of mine

If you haven’t seen what Specter has been doing, you might want to check it out. I’m very happy to be included in the November issue along with my buddy Alex Pruteanu. Check out his story, Orange Cigarettes.

Maybe also perhaps check out my story, { tonight : under scaffolding }. There’s lots more in there, too, and for a small fee you can see what else they have to offer. Send all checks to me abd I’ll make sure the loot gets into the right hands.

The Uptown Collective asked me a few questions and I answered them

Led Black is leading the way in drawing attention to Uptown artists and he threw me a Q&A about my story collection that is up at The Uptown Collective. Thanks, Led.

Is that me on the Orange Alert Podcast? Yep. Yep, it is.

Jason Behrends over at WHAT TO WEAR DURING AN ORANGE ALERT? was kind enough to include me on his latest podcast. You can hear me read a couple short pieces from Steal Me for Your Stories. Doesn’t that sound like a great way to spend your time?

    For Sale: My Book

I have some great news. My first book, Steal Me for Your Stories, is available for pre-order. This collection of short stories took me several years to write and being only a few months away from holding it in my hands is pretty thrilling.

Also, I’m donating everything I make from this book to a trust for my late cousin’s family, so even if you think the stories suck you can at least know it wasn’t a total waste of money.

The collection is with an independent press so it is going to rely heavily on word-of-mouth for its success. An independent book usually sells a few hundred copies, if the author is lucky. Expectations are low when you don’t get plugged in The New York Times, have no advertising budget and don’t have displays in bookstore windows. The Twilight series sells millions.

My goal is to sell at least a thousand copies the first year to puff some really garlicky breath into the wealthy faces of every vampire novelist.

Selling out the pre-order is important for some money/PR reason I don’t fully understand. (Hype?) So if you know anyone else who you think might be interested in this book, you’d be doing me a great favor by passing the word along.

You can also help me out, if I can keep asking for favors, by leaving a review or a rating on Goodreads and Amazon. Assuming you like it, of course.

Thanks for reading this long, boring plea for assistance. The book will be more enjoyable.

    Cheers,
    Robb

Book Review: “Normally Special” by xTx

Check it: I wrote a book review, sort of. In the interest of full disclosure, I took the photo for the cover of the book, so this is really all about me. Hell yes, it is! Anyway, read this review and I defy you not to buy the book.

Looking at my receipt, Matt Bell’s book seems like a bargain

    From Amazon.com:

    How They Were Found                                          $11.16

1  Steeltek Pewter Veil Cotton Container                    $10.39

1  America Retold Chemist Ivory Ceramic Soap Dish   $12.99

(Redoing the bathroom a bit. I love Q-tips!)
