Humiliation for the good of the world
Necessary Fiction asked writers to share unedited, unpublished early work, and discuss how they have evolved. What a great idea. I’m into humiliation.
Here’s what I had to say about it — and if you think my writing sucks now, wait till you read this. It is much worse.

If you are not afraid when you write, then you are not writing anything important.

Check out the winter issue of JMWW
If you have not read Daniel Long’s writing, well, there might not be any hope for you. You can begin the attempt at redemption by reading his story, From the Plagiarist’s Notebooks: Markson Makes an Introduction, in the winter issue of JMWW.
Other people wrote stories and whatnot, including me: Eardrum Alphabet Orbit. This is one of the stories in my collection, which you can order...

To be an abandoned house properly, you really must be decorated with stuffed animals. Otherwise, you’re not really trying.
The latest issue of The Fiddleback is neither a house nor is it decorated suchly. And it’s not trying. You can’t see the effort. It’s making it look easy. So! Much! Good! Shit!
Start with Not Big by xTx. Do not miss Dan Long’s interview with...

Six-word story
Written with a random word generator set on obscure:
Whillikers! Unpredacious geococcyx precompass feastless cystopteris.
That may as well be in a foreign language.

Maybe also perhaps check out my story, { tonight : under scaffolding }. There’s lots more in there, too, and for a small fee you can see what else they have to offer....

For Sale: My Book
I have some great news. My first book, Steal Me for Your Stories, is available for pre-order. This collection of short stories took me several years to write and being only a few months away from holding it in my hands is pretty thrilling.
Also, I’m donating everything I make from this book to a trust for my late cousin’s family, so even if you think the stories suck you can at...

Wheelchair sippy cup
A young woman pushed an old man in a wheelchair and he stared at me while he drank from a sippy cup. I was carrying coffee in one hand and breakfast in the other: two eggs, potatoes and toast that I bought for ninety-nine cents at a place that is famous for hotdogs. I sat in a park near a statue of a man on horseback who is long dead and I ate and thought about the wheelchair and the sippy cup....

Wow. I have never been nominated for a fiction award before. Thank you PANK Magazine for nominating Gracias, Pero Si. I feel like this right now even though the trophies haven’t been handed out yet. It’s an honor just to be nominated. Isn’t that what everyone says? Fuck that shit. I want to win! (There’s a trophy, right?)

Book Review: "Normally Special" by xTx
Check it: I wrote a book review, sort of. In the interest of full disclosure, I took the photo for the cover of the book, so this is really all about me. Hell yes, it is! Anyway, read this review and I defy you not to buy the book.

Spork published a story of mine
Here is a little something I wrote that someone a Spork Press thought enough of to put on the website under the category of “fiction”: How to Survive Strong Pesticides. It is short, so maybe if you have a couple minutes, you might care to read it.

No tokens
A bicycle ran over me on my way to the airport and a car crashed into the bike and a train slammed into the car and a jet crashed into the train and my flight was canceled.
Can we stop being afraid now? Our response has almost destroyed us.
